Ok, first of all, judging by the weather outside - THAT can hardly be considered as winter. No snow, plus 10 degrees - I can not remember a December like that in my entire life! And of course, spring weather calls for spring outfits! So I decided to go crazy and not only wear the color I would've never considered wearing in winter, but also the dress I wouldn't either! Ok, I did use to wear this color in winter many years ago. I was working as a lawyer and I had this amazing light pink tweed office suit. Actually, that wasn't exactly a suit. Those were light dusty pink wool pants and Chanel-like short pink jacket. Too bad I don't even have any pictures from back then because it was an exceptional outfit!

Ok, enough of the nostalgic memoirs! Let's get back to the outfit of today. Wearing a maxi is winter is definitely a tough challenge. Because not only you need the right skirt itself, but you also have to figure out the footwear and the outerwear issues.

My "skirt" is what I am officially ready to call the most versatile dress in the history of my closet: the Free People beach (!) dress! Of course, I would've rather bought a proper "winter" maxi dress or skirt. But not only I can not afford any purchases right now, but it is also really hard to find something stylish and interesting in the maxi length. With summer dresses, the choice is amazing. As for winter, I was only able to find one vintage Chanel skirt on ebay, but it still costed  $200...

So the only option left was to make the most of what I already owned. And of course this pink maxi dress was number one on my list! The only secret (which I took care of in advance) was to wear a full length nude slip skirt underneath. This simple and cheap tip instantly transforms any summer maxi into a winter-appropriate maxi!

платье от Free People.
